Golden Sunshine

I saw two films on Wednesday, Sunshine and The Curse of the Golden Flower, hence the cheesy title.

The Curse of the Golden Flower was an excellent film, with stunning visuals and fight scenes and a plot that had more back-stabbing that your average rogue (geeky WOW reference). The film did take a while to build up to the spectacualr finale, although the fight scenes were amazing and well worth the wait.

Sunshine was a brilliant, a science fiction thriller, with hints of 2001 and Alien. It was directed by Danny Boyle who also did Trainspotting and 28 Days Later both of which were excellent films. This film shows that you can make a great science fiction film that makes you think and doesn’t need loads of flashy special effects. Although the special effects were amazing, espeically when they got close to the sun.
