I watched Watchmen last night and it lived up to the hype. A very dark and very different superhero film, it will definately surprise you (even if you’ve read the graphic novel). I actually picked up the graphic novel early last year when the film started to pick up interest, even so they way they have brought the book to life is amazing. From the opening vivid yellow to the dark streets that Rorschach prowls through to Doctor Manhatta’s otherworldliness, it all seemed to be put together with a high attention to detail. There’s probably more I could say, but where’s the fun in that? Just go and see it already.

Just finished watching the last episode of this new BBC drama and I’m very impressed. With all the excellent stuff coming out of America, it’s been a while since something from the UK has competed (especially something from the BBC). While I enjoyed Robin Hood and Merlin, they were nowhere near as good as Supernatural or Battlestar Galactica, whereas Being Human was as good as some of it’s American counterparts. The story is of a werewolf, vampire and ghost all sharing a house and as the episodes go on you find out about how each person got to the state they are in and this is what makes the show. You find yourself getting involved with all of the main characters and the struggles they go through coming to terms with there differences to humans. It was shown on BBC 3, but I reckon there should be repeats and I’m eagerly looking forward to the second series.
