A friend booked tickets to see Avatar at the IMAX in London, which a group of us went to see yesterday. The film was amazing, even more so in 3D and on the massive IMAX screen. The film is about a group of humans trying to integrate with an alien culture on another planet, so they can mine some ultra rare mineral. They do this by using avatars, specially grown bodies mixing human and alien DNA. It’s actually a lot better than I make it sound. The aliens are all CGI, but look amazing, you forget that what you’re watching is computer generated. The aliens and their world are brought to life in a way I haven’t seen in a film before, watching this echoed a little of what it was like seeing Jurassic Park at the cinema. Definitely one I’d recommended.
